Is Invisalign gentler on your teeth?

Hello -Does Invisalign cause less root shortening (root resorption) than braces? -Compared to braces, can Invisalign move individual/specific teeth and put less reciprocal pressure on neighboring teeth? Thanks Ben

Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to move teeth. Each aligner moves your teeth slightly (1/10 mm) in a vertical, horizontal or rotating movement. These movements are engineered with each aligner and calculated with exact precision. Unlike traditional orthodontic brackets and wires, Invisalign can only move the teeth into the space of each aligner. The teeth physically cannot move outside of the aligner. To date, there has never been an issue of root resorption caused by Invisalign. This can be a risk when teeth are moved too rapidly. Invisalign providers work with an orthodontic team on each case to provide the highest quality of treatment for each individual case.
