Answer: See through teeth

Usually when you have excessive wear to your teeth, the incisal edges of your anterior (front) teeth can become worn and may appear as if they are see through. It is usually the result of grinding, clenching, or a deteriorated Tempromandibular joint. This "see through" look is due to the thin enamel shell remaining and its transparent properties. Sometimes a dentist will recommend either bonding or full coverage crowns to restore the teeth. This will not get better on its own, in fact as the bite continues to collapse, it will get worse. Bonding the teeth is only a temporary fix. To restore the teeth properly it is best to correct the occlusion (bite) in the posterior first, then restore the front teeth. The bite will need to be re-opened prior to placing the anterior restorations, otherwise you will have small short worn teeth and the crowns will appear the same way. You should definitley look into having an occlusal guard fabricated to protect your teeth as soon as possible, until your bite is completely restored.
