Elastic hook broke off one side only
Hi there, I stumbled across your website as I am in an unfavorable position with my Invisalign treatment. My orthodontist is away and unreachable for the week and my elastic hook on the right side of my mouth broke off. The left hook is still attached. I am not able to get my hook placed back on until my orthodontist is back in the office, another week. I was wondering if I should discontinue wear of the elastic on the left side until I can get my right hook fixed? Or should I continue to wear the elastic on one side only until I get the other hook back on? Your help is greatly appreciated. Best Regards, Julia

Answer: Broken Elastic Hook
By BracesInfo.com Expert 10
Usually the elastic rubber bands need to be worn as instructed, since that is not a possibility for you at this time, it is suggested to discontinue until the right hook is replaced. If you only wear the elastic on the left side, it could shift or over shift your bite, resulting is prolonged treatment. There should be someone on staff that is able to give you an appointment for when the orthodontist returns or to see you on an emergency basis.
